Snow Globe

I’ve been very quiet again recently on the blogging front, apologies! I hope to find a bit more time to get creative very soon.

In the meantime, in honour of the wintry “snowmaggedon” hitting the UK, I think it’s the perfect time to repost “Snow Globe” for Throwback Thursday! Enjoy 🙂

Loneliness

Good afternoon everyone, Happy Throwback Thursday!

Today we travel back to last February (almost a year!) to revisit my poem “Loneliness”. It recalls a time during my Year Abroad six years ago when I was feeling overwhelmingly low and lonely. A lot can be said for the mental benefits of companionship, friendship, communication and general human contact, particularly when you are on your own in a foreign country. Fortunately, much has changed in six years!

As sad as its theme is, I like this poem. Let me know what you think! 🙂

If

Today is Throwback Thursday (nearly the weekend at last!), so I present to you today’s throwback poem: “If”.

“If” deals with the potential return of depression and the narrator’s fear that their loved one would not be able to cope with the effects or lend them the support that they need to get through it.

If the darkness drags me back,

With raking claws that scratch and snatch,

And blots my mind with thoughts pitch black,

Would you save me? Would you catch?

Roadmap

So we’ve come to yet another Throwback Thursday, this one has come around very quickly!
Today’s poem is Roadmap, about the comings and goings of life, and how the smallest decision can have a big impact on the direction of our future.

Under Pressure

Good afternoon everyone, I hope the new year has started well for you all! Mine has been a mixed bag so far, and my body is struggling to get back into the work routine, so I’m tired all the time… Alas, it’s not very conducive to good writing.
So in the meantime, I present Under Pressure for today’s Throwback Thursday! Posted back in February 2017, it deals with the pressures and judgments we face every day, both from society and from those around us. I hope you enjoy 🙂

I can feel the cold stare of a thousand soulless eyes,

Ablaze with scorn and judgment left overt and undisguised,

The Meaning of Life

Happy New Year everyone! I wish you all health, happiness and prosperity in 2018 🙂
Apologies that I have been mostly absent from WordPress in December, due to Christmas-based stress and social commitments… and it may take me a little while to get back into the habit of writing and blogging, so please bear with me and my patchy posts over the next few weeks!
In the meantime, as today is Throwback Thursday, I present to you a somewhat cynical and nihilistic poem first posted back in February. I feel it accurately conveys my misery at returning to work-related monotony…
Still, nearly the weekend! 😀
