I took too deep a bite
Of your poisoned toffee apple;
Sweet on the surface,
But venom in my veins.

With your restless hands,
Trace my curvaceous outline:
An abstract portrait.

Dilapidated.
Crumbled walls, rotten rafters,
Exposed, derelict,
Structure reclaimed by Nature;
Cosy cottage no longer.
Indian Summer bathes
Bordelais bounty ablaze
Ground luxuriantly carpeted
In autumnal opulence
Land piers out to sea
In search of the horizon
Ever out-of-reach.

Summer’s soft sweet breath
Gently warms the waiting world,
And with sun-flamed lips
She kisses all with brightness
To highlight Nature’s glory.

Dew-spotted blanket,
Each green blade crystal-budded;
Sea of emeralds.
