Boy

I cannot understand why you champion this boy,

Who treats you no better than a dog with a chew toy,

Playing with you briefly just to keep himself amused,

Then discarding you promptly to leave you feeling used,

Your body is a playground there to satisfy his whims,

But like a child he then runs off in search of “better” things,

Too easily distracted, he prefers to mess around,

And when you really need him, he is nowhere to be found,

He saunters back and forth from your life like a yo-yo,

I think it’s about time that you tell him you’re a no-go,

Wipe him from your memory; out of sight and out of mind,

Give yourself a break and to your own heart be kind.
