Life is labyrinthine

Infinite branches

Multitudinous tracks and trails

When one road closes

Diversions lead you

Down an unplanned route

A dizzying detour

With each twist and turn

Each change of pace

Each swing of the compass

New crossroads constructed

New road signs to decipher

New directions to take

And the paths of others

Ever intersecting

Blocking and beckoning

In this mystifyingly multiplying maze

How strange to think

That with just one step

My course changes irreversibly

All that remains constant:

The unknown destination.

So we’ve come to yet another Throwback Thursday, this one has come around very quickly!
Today’s poem is Roadmap, about the comings and goings of life, and how the smallest decision can have a big impact on the direction of our future.
