Audio artistry,

Phonic poetry,

Soundtrack of dreams,

Feeding imagination,

Conjuring emotions,

Painting scenes.

It is truest love,

Consuming heartbreak,

Bittersweet nostalgia,

Unbridled joy,

Haunting pain and

Wide-eyed wonder.

It urges me to fly,

To run, dance, cry,

With urgent strings,

Sweet piano,

Weeping violins.

Let this magical music

Open hearts,

Teach us how to see,

And how to feel,

In a world apart.

I think music is immensely powerful and emotive, and this poem is another influenced particularly by the melodies of Ludovico Einaudi – I have included subtle links to his poems Run, Fly and Un Mondo A Parte, all of which I would highly recommend 🙂

Happy Throwback Thursday, readers! Today I’m reblogging a poem originally posted in early March, about the emotional potency of music. I believe that any genre of music has the power to evoke strong emotional reactions and can also offer a place of relaxation, comfort, solace or energy to the listener at times when they need it most.
